6.The Marble and the Sweets
In a quaint village nestled between rolling hills, there lived a boy
named Arjun and a girl named Mira. Arjun was known for his collection of
beautiful marbles, each one more stunning than the last. Mira, on the other
hand, was famous for her delectable sweets, which she made with love and care.
One sunny afternoon, Arjun and Mira met at their favourite spot by the
riverbank. They both had an idea: why not exchange? Arjun proposed trading some
of his marbles for Mira's sweets. Excited by the prospect, they agreed to meet
later that day to finalize their deal. When they gathered again, Arjun
carefully selected a handful of his marbles. Among them was the biggest and
most beautiful marble he had ever owned—a shimmering blue sphere that sparkled
in the sunlight. However, as he looked at it, a thought crossed his mind: What
if Mira had hidden some of her best sweets? So, he decided to keep the
magnificent marble aside and gave Mira the rest of his collection. In return,
Mira handed over all her sweets without hesitation.
That night, Mira lay in bed with a smile on her face, dreaming of the
delicious sweets she would enjoy. She felt happy and content with their
exchange, knowing she had given everything she had.But Arjun was restless. As
he tossed and turned in his bed, doubts began to creep into his mind. Did
Mira really give me all her sweets? He couldn't shake off the feeling
that she might have held back some of her best treats just as he had kept his
prized marble.
The next morning, Arjun decided to confront Mira. He approached her with
a furrowed brow and asked, "Did you give me all your sweets?"Mira
looked confused. "Of course! I gave you everything I had," she
replied earnestly.Arjun felt a pang of guilt as he realized that his lack of
trust stemmed from not giving his all in their exchange. He had held back
something precious to him—the beautiful marble—out of fear.
From that day forward, Arjun understood that relationships thrive on
trust and honesty. If you don’t give your hundred percent, doubts will always
linger like shadows in your heart. He approached Mira once more, this time with
sincerity in his eyes. "I’m sorry for doubting you," he said. "I
should have given you my best marble too."Mira smiled warmly, "It’s
okay, Arjun. We all learn from our mistakes."
As they sat by the riverbank once again, this time they exchanged not
just marbles and sweets but also promises of trust and openness. Their
friendship blossomed into something even more beautiful—a bond built on
honesty. And so, in that little village surrounded by hills, Arjun and Mira
learned that true relationships require giving your all; otherwise, doubts will
always linger in the shadows.
Moral: If you don’t give one hundred percent
in a relationship, you’ll always keep doubting.
